Train Ticket Office Could Be Cut

Train Ticket Office Could Be Cut

Greater Anglia plan to shut the ticket office at the Stansted Mountfitchet train station, with a consultation on the matter to end in a little over two weeks.

Train Operating Companies this week announced they have drawn up plans to cull the number of ticket office around the country, and our village station is one of those in the firing line.

Greater Anglia want to close the ticket office at Stansted Mountfitchet. They propose to move staff to other areas of the station to help customers buy tickets and provide expert travel advice and information.

They say staff would be on hand during the same hours the ticket office is currently open:

  • Monday to Saturdays 6am-1pm
  • Sundays 6am-3pm

Outside of these times, you will need to seek ticketing assistance from staff in Greater Anglia’s Customer Contact Centre in Norwich, using their ticket machines.

You can find out more about the planned closure at https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/consult
