Teenagers are being invited to sign up for three days of fun activities at the Peter Kirk centre in July that will offer the chance to participate in a summer walking expedition this August.
The Stansted Youth Centre from July 24-26 will be running a series of fun activities, challenges and games that are aimed as a taster for getting involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Over the three days individuals will be to take part in street art, cooking, martial arts and self-defence sessions, learn outdoor skills such as cooking and camp craft.
A tasty lunch will be served each day and participants will be able to take part in a two day / one night expedition experience in the Essex countryside. Sessions are open to people aged between 13 and 19.

3 Day Expedition
The 3 days concludes with an end of summer walking expedition experience, held on Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23. This will involve two days walking and exploring the Essex countryside in your expedition teams, completing activities along the way! Plus, an overnight camp where you will pitch your tent and cook your own hot meal. Start/finish location and camping will take place at Essex Outdoors, Well Lane, Danbury CM3 4AB
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
The three day sessions and expedition can be recorded to go towards attaining the Bronze award of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Advice and help will be on hand to registers individuals interested in signing up to the DoE programme.
