Bring along a picnic hamper and enjoy a fantastic free concert in the Memorial Gardens this weekend, courtesy of the Ensemble Harmonique de Rungis.
The French brass band are popping over from Rungis to entertain you on Saturday (August 17th).
You can get your picnic rug out from 6pm to settle down before the performance starts at 7pm.
St John’s Hall will play host should the weather turn sour.
Not just any band
The Ensemble Harmonique de Rungis have been going since November 1988 and are led by Alexander Calvo Rodriguez.
The orchestra has toured Czechoslovakia, Poland, Germany and Finland and are no strangers to a recording studio or a TV studio.
Three special pieces
On Saturday the ensemble will play three pieces:
New World Symphony by Antonin Dvorak
and two by Mr Rodgriguez
Conceptions & beliefs about sky and space in antiquity and Conceptions of sky and space in the Middle Ages
