Recycle your Christmas Tree

Recycle your Christmas Tree

Residents have not one, but two ways to avoid heading to the tip to recycle their Christmas tree in January.

There will be a skip/refuse vehicle at the Lower Street car park on January 6, from 9.45am to 10.45am, for residents to dispose of green waste and Christmas trees.

Trees recycled via the service will be turned into good quality compost or soil conditioner, or into chippings.

This recycling service is free and is being provided by Uttlesford District Council.

Recycle with St Clare Hospice

Meanwhile St Clare Hospice is also running a Christmas Tree recycling service in January.

The hospice will arrange (with the help of JustHelping) to collect and recycle your Christmas Tree for a suggested donation of £15.

You will need to register a collection before Sunday, January 7 at just-helping.org.uk/register-tree

Trees will be picked up from January 11-13.

Last year St Clara’s collected 1,450 trees raising over £20,000 in funds for the hospice.
