Stansted and Elsenham GP Surgeries announce merger

Stansted and Elsenham GP Surgeries announce merger

Practice merger will have no impact on patient services say local medical service providers

Stansted Surgery and Elsenham Surgery have decided to merge and become one GP practice.

This will meanĀ  19,474 patients across the communities of Stansted Mountfitchet and Elsenham will now be served by a single GP practice, operating out of the two existing practice sites.

The two surgeries say they have been working increasingly collaboratively. The merger merely reflects and formalises this reality.

The practices believe that the tie-up will allow them to continue to provide high quality health care to their patients.

Elsenham to become branch site

Stansted Surgery and Elsenham Surgery signed joint contracts to work together as one GP practice on 1 July 2024.

The new practice will now be known as Peacock Surgery, with the Elsenham site becoming a branch surgery of the main Stansted site.

No change to services

Hertfordshire and West Essex intergrated care board and the practice are committed to ensure continuity of care for all patients.

The merger is purely administrative. The current boundaries of both surgeries have been combined.

This will have no effect on the registered patients who live within this boundary.

Services will be delivered as they are at the moment and no action is needed by patients.

Essentially, there will be no change in how patients contact their practice, have their appointments and where they will go.
