Bloor Homes are holding a consultation in the Village next Wednesday as part of preparations to submit a planning application for their Walpole Meadows 2 project.
From 3-7pm at the Stansted Free Church Hall, you can ask questions to Bloor representatives about their modified plans to build homes near Walpole Meadows.
The housing developer says the project has been adapted in light of feedback from their first wave of consultation held in February 2023.
Of significance is the site will now host 270 houses, not 350 as first planned.
Modified Project
Changes outlined in Bloor’s leaflet:
- Policy compliant levels of affordable homes, including First Homes
- A new public parkland, comprising 8.75 hectares
- New pedestrian and cycling links, including potential improvements along Cambridge Road
- Significant financial contributions to support local community infrastructure such as schools, healthcare, highways, and sustainable transport
- Policy compliant biodiversity net gain and sustainable practices such as provision of electric vehicle charging points and air source heat pumps
- Land safeguarded for a new community building.
