The district council say refuse collections will return this week.
You should start to see refuse trucks doing the rounds of Stansted’s streets and lanes from Wednesday this week.
A “patchwork” refuse service will start collecting rubbish from Tuesday.
A priority is being placed on catching up on emptying non-recyclable rubbish bins.
- Trade waste collections will restart tomorrow.
- Domestic collections will restart on Wednesday.
- Garden waste collection to begin in a few days.
Uttlesford District Council will be collecting last week’s non-recycling/general waste bins and food waste caddies.
The crews will be able to take some side waste which must be in black bags – up to 4 per household.
The authority will aim to get to you on your usual collection day. However, we may not initially be running as many lorries as we would normally, so if we do not manage to get to you on your usual collection day, please leave your bins out and they will be collected.
Collections will be made either in our own vehicles or those supplied by other organisations on our behalf, including other councils.
Please note, as Uttlesford are prioritising the non-recycling collections this week, recycling collections will restart in the week commencing 12 February as per the normal schedule.
UDC will provide an update regarding garden waste collections in the next few days.
