We are seeking volunteers to join our Airport Working Group.
At Stansted Mountfitchet Parish Council we believe Stansted Airport plays an important part in village life, contributing financial support to our community organisations and being a major local employer.
But having the UK’s third largest airport next to us does also have its downsides; for example, on-street parkers, and noise and air pollution.
We believe it is vital to work with the airport’s authorities to find solutions to such issues and to maximise the benefits. Helping us do this is our Airport Working Group.
About the working group
The Working group reports to Full Council and serves to assist it in understanding the impacts of the airport on the parish and to propose actions which will benefit our community.
What is involved
Stansted Mountfitchet Parish Council would like the working group to meet regularly (at least quarterly), to discuss airport related matters, with the aim of fostering a more informed and active relationship with the airport.
The group may also be required to meet in support of specific parish business such as helping to develop our response to noise consultations, planning applications etc.
