There are two meeting room at our offices at the Mountfitchet Exchange. Both are available for hire by businesses, individuals and community groups.
Meeting Rooms
Room 1
This can accommodate about 20 people in a boardroom style, or up to 30-40 seated in rows, ie for a film showing. It has a projector and screen, the use of which is included in the hire charge. The room is used for SMPC committee meetings on Wednesday evenings, typically from 7.30pm.
Hourly Hire Costs
- Registered Charities £12
- Regular Hires / Local Organisations £20
- Commercial use £25
- Whole day bookings (6 hours or more) will be charged at the hourly rate minus 20%.
Room 2
Meeting room 2 can accommodate 8 people in a boardroom style. It is located just off from the library.
Hourly Hire Costs
- Registered Charities £8
- Regular Hires / Local Organisations £10
- Commercial use £12
- Whole day bookings (6 hours or more) will be charged at the hourly rate minus 20%.
Facilities
Both meeting rooms have access to wifi. People using the meeting rooms can make use of a galley kitchen, and there are two toilets.

Booking the Day Centre
We no longer take bookings for the Day Centre on 72 Chapel Hill. This is because in 2024 the community organisation TouchPoint took on the lease at 72 Chapel Hill.
