There’s an opportunity tonight in Stansted to hear from the candidates for our constituency in next week’s General Election.
St John’s Church Hall is hosting a hustings for candidates standing in the North West Essex constituency, which includes our village.
If you are interested in catching those running to represent the Stansted community at Westminster you need to get to St John’s Church, off Chapel Hill, at 7.15pm.
The event – organised by Churches Together in Stansted – gets underway at 7.30pm.
The organisers say everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend.
Who are the candidates?
The are seven candidates standing currently:
- BADENOCH Kemi – The Conservative Party Candidate
- BONINO Erik – Independent
- GILDEA Edward Vernon – The Green Party
- GREEN Andrew David – Independent
- OMILANA Niko – Independent*
- RAJESH Smita – Liberal Democrat
- STCLAIR-ARMSTRONG Grant John Maxwell – Reform UK*
- WAITE Issy – The Labour Party
Mr StClair Armstrong has been deselected by the Reform Party, but his name will remain on the ballot as a “Reform” candidate.
