Flood Alert Issued

Flood Alert Issued

This morning a flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the The River Stort and Stansted Brook catchment.

The alert means there is a “possible” risk of flooding in this area, but “property flooding is not expected.”

Environment Agency advice is to take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.

With the weather expected to improve over the next 24 hours, the expectation is that the Environment Agency will remove the warning for the areas which Stansted Mountfitchet falls within.

Their next flood assessment for our areas will be made by the Environment Agency at 6pm, September 27.

Updates from the Environment Agency can be found on their website.
