A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Stort and Stansted Brook catchment.
The alert issued yesterday and updated today (Oct 2) at 9.38am warns: “No property flooding is currently expected but flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Stort; Stansted Brook.
“Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
“The weather forecast has improved and we expect river levels on the Stort to fall in the coming days.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.”
