Emergency repairs to gas pipes near the fountain on Chapel Hill in Stansted Mountfitchet have caused the closure of the B1383 to traffic at this location.
Last night Cadent shut the B1383 where Silver Street / Cambridge Road meets Chapel Hill.
This was to allow the utility company to fix a gas leak in the area.
The company indicates the road could stay closed up until Tuesday, October 22nd.
