Draft Local Plan Final Consultation Nears

Draft Local Plan Final Consultation Nears

You are invited to have your say on the draft Local Plan as it goes through its final round of public consultation.

Councillors at Uttlesford District Council voted on July 30 to give the green light for the draft Local Plan to undergo its last round of public consultation.

This stage of consultation will open on 8 August and close on 3 October.

Everyone who responds will be required to focus their comments on its legal compliance and what is referred to as the ‘soundness’ of the plan – this relates to whether it meets the requirements set out in national policy, guidance and legislation. The consultation will include information to help explain this.

All responses will be submitted, along with the plan and supporting documents, to the Secretary of State later this year for examination.

Paper Copies & Drop-ins

Paper copies of the publication version of the Uttlesford Local Plan will be available at local libraries and the council’s London Road offices. Parish councils will also be provided with copies and a briefing to be able to assist members of the public.

There will be several drop-in events open to anyone who wants more information about the consultation and how to take part. The sessions will give people the opportunity to ask the local plan policy team any questions they have about the plan. The team will also be able to assist with how to submit a representation. Details of when and where these sessions will be held will be published at the start of the consultation.
