District Council Annual Canvas

This week canvassers will be out knocking on doors checking the information Uttlesford District Council have for residents who haven’t as yet confirmed their details on the electoral roll.

Canvassers just need a return so the District Council know if they are missing anyone to be registered or if they need to remove someone who is no longer resident at an address.

Canvassers will be out and about in the local area up to 18th November.

What to expect

Canvassers will NOT enter your house.

  • They will wear a hi viz orange vest.
  • They carry council ID and you can check with us on 01799 510 510 if you have any concerns.

They will NOT ask questions about personal information – the District Council do not need financial information or dates of births etc.

They just want to check the name of the person(s) living at the property to ensure they stay registered to vote or if not already registered, to be invited to register

They will leave a calling card if they visit a house and get no response.
