The helpline was set up in 1984 to provide a community support service, primarily by offering free transport to those unable to drive or use public transport.
Give them a call if you need help getting to medical appointments, picking up prescriptions or getting your shopping.
Last year their 20-30 strong team of volunteers took 156 calls from residents. The organisation is always on the lookout for fresh recruits, particularly volunteer drivers. No regular commitment is required – when and how is at the volunteer’s convenience. Contributions to fuel costs are made by the client. All drivers require a DBS check.
The helpline is open Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
