Essex Highways have issued a statement to residents along Grove Hill explaining why work to resurface the road has yet to be completed. You can read it below.
Dear resident,
Priority One – Resurfacing works on Chapel Hill, Stansted
As you may be aware, we recently undertook road resurfacing works on Chapel Hill, Stansted as part of our Priority One campaign.
Through our £25million Priority One campaign, we have delivered works in every borough and district across the county to help improve our roads and local environment. More details can be found at www.essexhighways.org/priority-one.
The Priority One campaign was an additional investment into highways maintenance, aimed at delivering as many schemes as possible using the available budget. We specifically targeted the areas that residents informed us were most in need of repair.
Chapel Hill was selected as one of these areas to be prioritised, and work was completed on Thursday 6th February to resurface the eastbound land from Cambridge Road to Woodfields. The plan was to also resurface the westbound lane, however due to a clash with extended utilities works taking place in this area, it was not possible to do so.
The westbound lane will now be resurfaced as soon as possible by our 2025/2026 maintenance programme.
kind regards,
Essex Highways – 31.03.2025
