Chapel Hill will be shut for 22 days from July 11 to allow Gigaclear to carryout work in the area.
Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Hill, Stansted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Lower Street to both of its junctions with Silver Street a distance of approximately 500m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th July 2023 for 22 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA180S2040 – Gigaclear).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via Lower Street, High Lane, Cambridge Road, Chapel Hill, Silver Street and vice versa.
Access for residents, emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 29th June 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
