The first Saturday in April has been set for the Parish Council’s Annual Litter Pick.
The date was penciled in at last week’s last Open Spaces committee meeting.
Open Space Chair Jo Kavanagh said: “We would like to see as many Councillors [on April ] take part whether on their own or with families.”
Team up to bag up
As is tradition, SMPC is inviting community groups, youth associations and residents in Stansted to take part, too.
In 2024 the Litter Pick relieved the village’s hedgerows, woods and pavements of over 20 bags of rubbish.
The question is, will litter pickers find Stansted any cleaner this year?
Tea and refreshments
The SMPC’s two-hour litter-picking tour of duty will begin at the Mountfitchet Exchange.
There, participants will be met by Councillors dishing out refuse bags and pickers and putting everyone into teams to spread out across village.
The pick will end at noon back at the Exchange, where Parish Councillors and council officers will be serving tea and biscuits.
